The 40 fourth graders I teach daily are apart of a Title 1 school made up of over 500 diverse students. Over 75% of our students are from low socioeconomic households. Hurricane Harvey effected most of our students in one way or another. We have worked hard since September to continue to create a safe and creative school and classroom culture. While around half of my students are preforming at-grade level or above, I teach several students with deficits in reading and writing. It is part of my daily mission to provide engaging and stimulating lessons and activities to help close those gaps and have all students be successful. My students are creative, intuitive, and love finding new ways to learn! I'm always looking for ways to provide that excitement for learning.
