It is my desire to create a guided math center that will engage students and ultimately lead to a love for math. Students will use all material during guided math as well as math station time. The utility cart will act as a portable storage unit that will allow math material to be readily available to all students. The storage containers and units will be used to help keep all material neat and organized so that these supplies will last many years. A set of 15 mini number balance kits will allow students to work in small groups to develop a better understanding of number-sense while working mathematical problems out. The math material I am needing for my classroom will include things like ten-frame sets for counting on and building an understand for number sequencing, number lines to help students with basic addition and subtraction concepts such as counting on, paddle boards will be used to record their findings, and spinners to complete problems on probability.
The donations given to fund this project will ensure a difference between knowing and understanding math.
These supplies will allow students to learn about math in a hands on way. This will allow my future students to enjoy all materials as well.his will ultimately create a love for learning math and apply it to real world scenarios.
