The most popular center in our room is the dramatic play center! We have to organize a waiting list every day so everyone can get an opportunity to experience that center. The curriculum that we are currently using runs themes for two weeks. We do our best to transform the room into that particular theme so the children can carry on the learning in which ever center they choose. We finished up our transportation unit, and we converted our dramatic play area into an airport. Because we did not have any pretend clothes, we had to make some hats out of paper.
The dramatic play center outfits that we are requesting will help the children use their imagination and pretend to be that pilot or conductor that they envision to be. Not only that, but these pretend clothing items and puppets will help them retell stories that we are currently learning about. Also, by children using these clothing articles, they are more likely to use the vocabulary words and phrases that we are teaching them in class.
