The Kindle Fire tablets will make a difference in my students' learning by fueling their internal fire to question, research, and learn. My students are developing essential questions for enriching their own learning, they are wanting to know how to think rather than what to think.
In our small group, we are all about building our abilities to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties. The Kindle Fire tablets will help students have access to their essential questions, but also provide engaging, meaningful real-life opportunities for building literacy and examining credibility of sources while researching their essential questions within the small group.
For my students with difficulties in reading and writing, these Kindle Fire tablets can provide them access to challenging, complex texts with text-to-speech. I could also download apps for various math practice skills for differentiating our small group lessons, which would allow me to have more differentiated activities for both my highest performing and most struggling students.
I am a "push-in" teacher with a mobile cart going into multiple classrooms to support my exceptional students to provide small group instruction. These Kindle Fire tablets are very light and would be a great addition to our mobile cart! The possibilities are endless.
