The use of these board games will help students learn about the scientific concepts of predator/prey relationships, population sizes, and adaptation in a fun and engaging way. The use of games to teach these science concepts will help reach and engage all students much more than the traditional "read and take notes" approach.
In fact, the goal is for the kids to have so much fun playing, they don't even realize just how much science content they are actually learning! After playing, we can debrief about the game, and not only will they summarize what they learned, but I can assess just how well they learned it.
