We are asking for funds for two iPads. My class is in desperate need of some extra technology. We use iPads for many different things in the resource room.
For a student with a disability, the right technology can change their academic world. Many students have anxiety about taking paper tests and doing work on paper. In order to curb this anxious feeling, we can use iPads to administer tests and assignments. We also use applications to help build concrete skills like writing and number/letter organization.
For students with behavior issues, there are many applications for them as well. We use them to show different situations and have students run with appropriate reactions to something that they don't like.
Technology is a huge part of the special education community, and with your help, we can offer our students a stepping stone to their level of success.
