The materials that I am requesting will help to create a Maker's Space in my classroom. As we move into a more project-based learning environment, my students will be able to use the imagine, design, create, modify, and present their ideas like never before! As an educator, I believe that project based learning, if done correctly, has a greater chance of helping kids learn and have a more meaningful educational experience. In a recent engineering project, my students came up with design ideas to make cars more fuel efficient. They loved working on this project and I was genuinely blown away by some of their ideas, however, I could see how using a 3-D printer to build a prototype would greatly enhance their learning experience.
