These materials will enable my students to open a school wide store. Using money correctly is a lifelong skill. This store will not only help my students count money and make change, but other students will be able to count money to shop. Let's face it, we live in a materialistic society. What better way to practice counting money and making change than in a realistic situation! It sure beats completing a worksheet.
Students will also have the opportunity to interact and practice social skills as they buy and sell pencils that smell, cutsie erasers, and pencil sharpeners. Hopefully, teachers will benefit from the sale of the above school supplies as students will be prepared for class.
