As the school counselor I am lucky to be able to work with all students in my building through guidance lessons, individual and group counseling. Our students come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds and levels of family support. At our building we offer support for the the whole child. There is a significant number of students who do not have their basic needs met: daily meals, appropriate or clean clothing, winter gear, safe and stable housing, loving and supportive family. Because of this need, as a school we do our best to provide what we can, for example- Friday food bags, free coats and winter gear to students in need, clothing and shoes as needed, hygiene assistance, holiday food and gifts, counseling, etc. We are very proud of our students for the level of character they uphold. We have so many students who go out of their way to be helpful and kind.
