I would love for the students to be able to relax in a good book. These books are a great way to get kiddos to enjoy the reading experience. Although they are learning to read, these books will be read to them as they follow along.
These books will enhance the learning, and reach out to all my students: ESL, regular education students, and struggling students. It’s a win, win situation!
These books will help my students become ready for reading as they read sight words and other words as it is read to them. My students need to have as many opportunities to hear as many books read to them as possible.
I am also requesting a tape/cd player with headphones for a center, so we can play these books for the students.
Reading a variety of books with many words is an awesome way for my students to become familiar with the English language. My students will have the opportunity to hear sounds of letters, words, rhymes and patterns. The CD player and music CDs will help my students become ready for reading.
By knowing the story, they can begin to read the words on the paper, thus helping them to become successful readers.
