My goal, as an educator, is to prepare my students for college and work force tasks. I want my students to know that even if they are only in sixth grade, that they can dream about community colleges, four year universities, and hands on vocational courses. I want them to know that together we can work towards this goal.
I believe that my students have what it takes to reach their goals in their life. As a school, we were presented the task to represent a college every Wednesday. My students decided on picking UCLA. We have researched UCLA and the things the campus has to offer. They have wrote paragraphs on what they have learned about UCLA and why they would like to go there.
In addition to researching and representing UCLA in our classroom, I want them to have t-shirts to wear every Wednesday. However, most of my students don't have the access to go buy a UCLA shirt. I wanted to create this project to allow them to have that privilege. To be able to wear a college shirt on Wednesday and know that they can and they will reach their dreams. I want them to believe in their success like I do.
