We need to improve understanding of poetry, reading fluency and making connections across subjects. We will read poems from the poetry books. We can connect what we learn to our read aloud book and to the comprehension skills we are learning. We will also use these books as mentor texts.
We are working on increasing vocabulary this year and these resources will allow us to continue to practice these skills. The books for the children to read and the books that will allow me to learn more about teaching literacy and vocabulary, will support vocabulary development of academic words that are used throughout their education!
