My integrated PreK classroom contains students from ages three to five. The student needs are varied and sometimes complex, depending on age, diagnosis, and level of service required.
Creating a less stimulating but highly engaging environment for learning is always foremost in my thoughts when planning and/or purchasing materials.
This classroom supports two, 2.5 hour sessions, five days per week. There are two circle times, ten centers during choice time, whole group instruction, and playground time.
We are housed in portable space where there are no bathrooms or running water, which create further challenges when welcoming the youngest learners to school. The district is high need serving a large number of MLL as well as students who are economically disadvantaged.
