Most of our students are English Language Learners. They are in a low income community. Shootings are heard throughout the night. Graffiti clean-up is done at least once a week. Students' only safe heaven is the school. Due to their parent's economic and educational background, the students do not have many experiences. Their only avenue for learning are the teachers they see. I want to help them succeed and have a chance to obtain the American Dream.
