My class contains 15 curious and eager students who attend school in District 23, Brownsville, Brooklyn. Our school is a Title 1 school, which means most children come from low-income families. It is also a Renewal school, meaning there are many struggling students in our school. Despite many students living in poverty and in shelters, receiving free breakfast and lunch, and experiencing challenges everyday in their home and community life, I strive to provide as many hands on learning experiences/materials and opportunities to learn through play and discovery.
