Many of my students have not found that "just right" book yet. By providing more options of varied levels and interests, I hope to expose them to something that catches and creates their desire to read. We are requesting high interest and appropriate reading level materials my students can read!
I'm looking at adding graphic novels, magazines, and novels that I can give book talks at the beginning of class. I am starting Readers Workshop this year and am looking books that students will want to read during an independent reading time.
I am hoping that through book talks and individual conferences, I can find that book, author, or genre that a students loves that will foster a love for reading.
