Due to the limited technology in our school, the requested Chromebooks would be such a blessing to learning in our classroom. The students currently use free online programs like Front Row, Khan Academy, Prodigy, and Pearson Realize for math instruction. These programs allow students to work at their own level and pace to work through standards and practice activities. Nevertheless, the kids can not enjoy the full benefit of these differentiated learning tools due to our lack of resources on a daily basis.
By bringing Chromebooks into my classroom, students will have more access to technology to use these powerful online resources on a daily basis. The Chromebooks will be used for Math and Reading learning centers during Math and Reading instruction. The Chromebooks will also be used in the mornings for morning work with online multiplication and division fact fluency practice activities. Advanced learners will be able to use the Chromebooks to work on Khan Academy which pushes them to new levels of challenge. Literature circle groups can use the Chromebooks to respond to their reading through Google Slides, Google classroom, and online response journals.
These Chromebooks would be a blessing to our entire class in a variety of ways across curriculum.
