My students love to learn about different careers. They enjoy using what they learn to act things out. We need some new costumes and manipulatives so that we can transform our dramatic play center into more than "just house." We want to have a grocery store when we work on the letter G. We want to have a vet office when we study the letter V. The students have come up with all kinds of ideas for transforming our "house center." I want to encourage writing and literacy throughout the dramatic play center and make connections with our letter of the week. The dramatic play area is one of my students' favorite areas in the room. They don't want to leave when it is time to clean up. I want to encourage this excitement in learning through play and broaden their horizons to include a variety of careers that we have learned about.
