This year has been a huge challenge for the students in my classroom. Studetns come to school with a lot of stress. Hurricane Irma has put a damper on the energy and efforts of many in the community. In our school, many of the students parents do not have extra funds for technology or to have family fun nights. I want to make it happen. I would like to host a few game days with my students and parents. Parents can come in with their kids and have a one-one meeting with me, while also spending fun night with their kids playing video games. This would also help my special education students when they become overwhelmed. Parents would be able to finish the conferences with me and then go to the gaming stations with their children. They would also be able to spend more time discussing their children's success.
