I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they come to my classroom excited to learn.
The philosophy of my program is to, "Grow our own educators." A majority of the students are planning and preparing to go into the field of education.
My students get first-hand experience working in a classroom and receive direct classroom instruction. Additionally, they have opportunities to participate in leadership and competitions through Career Technical Student Organizations of Educator's Rising and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, FCCLA.
