This opportunity will include 3 classes of 2nd graders, around 70 students. Each class will have a 6 to 7 week cycle of swim lessons. The last swim lesson parents are invited to watch the final lesson where students can demonstrate their new skills.
During this time, students will be educated about swim safety and what to do and not to do if they see a person who is having a problem in the water. For many students, this will be the very first time they have ever been in a swimming pool.
Our town is surrounded by water. Along with all the confidence and character building that goes along with these lessons, there is also a very practical side as well. Living in a city that a surrounded by water, knowing the basics of safety in and around could help save a life.
