In this enrichment class, the students are able to use their artistic abilities and creative ideas to design different spaces. As a class, the students will learn about design trends and discover their own personal design style. The colored pencils will be used to learn color theory and sketch designs for every part of a room. Just as interior designers create portfolios as a way to showcase their designs, my students will use their sketchbook as a way to organize and keep track of their designs. As a final project, the students have the opportunity to participate in a real-life experience; redecorating our teachers' lounge. The students will be divided into groups, and each group will use a project board to present their design proposal to our client, the school principal.
Your donation to this project will help these students take their first step into the world of design. This opportunity will allow the students to realize their individual talents, as well as, work collaboratively with other students to accomplish a common goal. One of these students may indeed be the next design star!
