My students will participate in a summer enrichment program which focuses on reading and mathematics to fill gaps in learning. Most of the students have learning disabilities and struggle with learning the required grade-level materials through traditional teaching styles. During that summer enrichment program, students will also participate in STEM activities one day a week. These lessons will be fun, as well as engaging to promote creativity. Our program is in need of STEM activities and resources to teach my students to think outside the box, while making real world connections. These STEM activities give the students access to higher order thinking and encourage creativity.
