My students will be using their knowledge of art principles to create a model wreath for the holiday season. They will be using the repetitive movement and color patterns to create an aesthetically pleasing gift.
The students will be able to use a kinesthetic approach to grasp a required principle of art. They will begin with a pattern of a blank mason jar lid that will act as a 3-D space they must work within to create art. After cutting yarn in different lengths they will work in wrapping the lid to create a wreath like effect. They will then use different methods to bond and adhere different beads to the project.
The students will use this repetition of wrapping the yarn and the pattern of colors to gain a better understanding of key factors for their art career.
