Our students come from many different countries and speak many different languages, one common language for them is art. They come to my class even with each other, all able to see and create the same projects even if they don't speak the same language. Visual art truly is a universal language.
I love to give my students visual art experiences that not only help them develop and grow into creative problem solvers and artists, but I hope to give them tools that can help them in their future careers. Showing students different art materials and techniques helps them to better understand the possibilities of a future using their talents and passion.
To be able to show students how to create with this pottery wheel will not only gives them another outlet in the art world but it can help them give back to their community and help people who may be in need. Ceramic art is not only a beautiful form of art but a direct pathway to a potential career in both doing what you love and making/selling work that is desired and can be functional.
