I am requesting supplies for science, art and flexible seating for the classroom. Being a first year special education teacher in high school has many benefits such as seeing my students' use their skills that they have gained in the classroom go off and use them in the real world. One of the disadvantages is not having the proper funding for these children who severely need it. This donation will increase my students' understanding of science in the classroom as well as how to express themselves through the visual arts. My student generally have a hard time expressing their feelings because of various disabilities such as autism and other neurological disorders that affect speech and socialization. The visual arts can help give them an outlet and control of how to express their feelings.
