The books that we are requesting will allow students to participate in Fantasy Book Clubs by offering differentiated texts to meet various student reading levels and learning needs.
Students who read books in a series are more likely to become lifelong readers, and that is the goal of Fantasy Book Club! Fantasy books allow students to learn about plot, setting, character, theme and point-of-view, all while transporting them to another world.
The lessons that we will use the books for are rich and varied Some of the lessons included in the unit are: how a reader can learn along with the main character, how the setting of a fantasy story can affect the conflict, what quest structure is, looking at symbolism and much, much more.
