The 2 iPads and cases I am requesting will be used daily during reading centers. They may also be used to translate if necessary, as nearly 70% of my students are English Language Learners. The iPads would allow students to independently practice many of the literacy skills we have been working on during whole group instruction. These skills would include letter recognition and sounds, rhyming, onset and rime, initial, medial and ending sounds and well as independent reading.
Many of my students do not have the access or the opportunity to use technology outside of the classroom. The addition of these iPads would significantly boost their exposure to educational technology.
