No matter what their ability or disability, First Graders learn best by seeing, touching and exploring. Working in a low-income area, the classrooms often lack the supplies necessary to truly teach an inquiry based science program. They need hands-on materials to make science more interesting and understandable. Add in that the students are hard of hearing and the need for hands on materials multiplies!
