This upcoming school year, I would like to offer more flexible seating choices for my students. Flexible seating provides students with a sense of choice and control of their learning environment. It also allows their bodies to wobble, rock, and bounce. This type movement increases oxygen to their brains, increase blood flow, and improves their core strength. Flexible seating allows for students to collaborate with other students which help students improve their communication skills, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Last, it teaches children to have sense of community and responsibility. As a class, we will establish rules and routines to make sure our items are take care of.
