Distance learning is hard for most students due to COVID-19, but I want them to know that I am here for them. These material will make a difference in my students learning by helping them engage in our lessons and activities.
Our school name is Kuumba which means creativity and we use different forms of art in all of our subjects. Students will use the dry erase boards, pencils, and art supplies in all of our subjects. In ELA we are learning about the Sun, Moon, and Stars, so one of our projects is to draw and paint pictures of them. We have crew (morning meeting) every day and my students really enjoy the emoji activities that I incorporate so I will use the emoji stickers in our math counting lessons to engage them with something they like, but use it as a learning tool. We will use the watercolor paints and watercolor paper for our upcoming lesson on birds where we study different birds, draw them, paint them, and then do a gallery display with the research portion attached. This time we are doing the display virtually, but with the materials that we are going to send to each student, everyone can participate. I want to continue to make a difference in the lives of my students especially because we are a 100% Title 1 school. I want to continue to bring the joy of learning to my students through these hard times.
