I will incorporate more hands on learning into all subjects, but science and technology will be the inspiration for writing, reading and math. Unfortunately, because of students' low socioeconomic backgrounds, many students do not have educational resources outside of the classroom.
Introducing students to more hands on learning can appeal to many different learning styles, and learning levels. This can help me reach all of my students in the classroom. Kinesthetic learning can also help students with behavioral problems and help them refocus energy in the classroom.
By using hands on learning tools that can be related to our environment, students will be able to make connection and have a better chance at retaining information that can be used for learning more about science and engineering. Applying hands on learning and incorporating NGSS standards for 5th and 6th grade, students will fully benefit from these activities in the classroom.
