I am requesting 5 Chromebooks for my classroom. My school has very little technology available. Our computer lab is shared by 24 classrooms, and the 4 computers in my classroom are not enough to help my students become comfortable with technology. Many of my students have no access to computers at home. They are unfamiliar with using a mouse and typing on a keyboard.
With these Chromebooks, they will learn technology skills that are important for their success in school and later on in life.
Chromebook's for our classroom will allow my students to type out their writing, create presentations, work on group projects and conduct research. We have a lot of technology associated with our math curriculum that we currently cannot access - Chromebooks would change that. State testing in Massachusetts is becoming computer based, and my students will need more familiarity with keyboarding to succeed on these tests. I want my students to achieve computer literacy so they can compete in a world that is becoming more technology based every day.
