The second grade gifted and talented students are learning about communities. Part of our curriculum calls for us to do a service project to help the homeless citizens in our community.
We will donate the fabric to one of our community leaders who will use it to make caps and bags for the homeless. Inside the bags will be personal care items like deodorant and toothpaste.
Each GT student will write an encouraging letter to place in one of the bags. We will learn that part of being a good community leader means caring for those less fortunate than us.
