I am working to reinforce writing skills and basic U.S. geography through a national parks project. Students will spend the quarter learning about the origins of the park service, how it is funded, and what the parks work to protect.
Students will research a national park of their choice. They will research how to access the park, when to visit, what to bring, current events, threats within the park, and provide suggestions for how to encourage more visitation. Students will detail what visitors can do at the park, provide history for their site, and provide and opinion on how to best protect the land.
