These math tools will be put into "Take Home Bags" and sent with students who need to practice various math skills. Each bag will include math games and manipulatives for different math concepts and skills and will go home for students to practice with their families. By practicing these skills at home, students will be able to have a solid foundation of the skills and be able to apply them to science standards.
The supplies I have requested are all hands-on activities and will make learning fun at home and will involve families in learning.
Each item I have requested covers a math skill. For example, I have requested "Solve, Flip, and Check Fraction Cards." Practicing these cards at home will help students gain a better understanding of fractions. The "Math in a Flash Discovery Cans" will provide students the opportunity to explore various math skills in an hands-on way. By using games and cards, students will be more engaged in learning math. When school and home connect, learning soars higher!
Math helps build the foundation for science and engineering. I would love to see all of my students, especially my girls, get more confidence and excitement about math and science concepts. Gaining more confidence in these skills will lead to better understanding of their science and engineering standards.
