My classroom is composed of 22 students from Justice, Illinois. Students are from a low-income, poverty-stricken community. The classroom itself has older desks that may not be at the correct height for sixth-grade students. Many chairs are falling apart which can make activities rather difficult. The aim of this project is to create a flexible seating arrangement with the use of balance balls, net chairs, bean bag chairs, and rugs to use for the classroom library. The class has great potential but needs these last few items to accommodate student needs in the classroom.
My students also have diverse needs and they will be met with these specific items. We will have more room in the room to accommodate more students and be more spacious for group activities. The students would also have specific centers for subjects to move from place to place.
