This project was created to obtain flexible seating options for my Cognitively Impaired students. I am requesting balance ball chairs for my students. The chairs have a work out quality balance ball in a base with wheels. This flexible seating option allows students to sit in a nonconventional chair and the wheels allow the students to move the chairs around with ease.
This will allow them to work comfortably and improve focus and engagement as they will need to maintain active posture while sitting in the balance ball chair.
This will not only improve focus and engagement, it will also address physical and occupational therapy needs because of the amount of core strength required to stay sitting in the chair.
Flexible seating in the classroom allows choice which enhances a students learning experience, as students are more willing and able to learn when they feel safe and comfortable.
