An outdoor setting, such as this table will help provide an opportunity to bring our students outdoors to connect with nature, ultimately increasing their motivation.
Our mission is to turn our vacant courtyard into a Reading Garden and outdoor classroom, in which the students in our building will be responsible for. A Reading Garden will help us build a literacy community, by increasing our students motivation in being part of the process. Our hope is to bring in local farmers, artists, boy scouts, and other community members to join us in this mission.
Our vision, it to have an outdoor classroom and garden area that is completely student managed. We would like to eventually get 4 outdoor tables donated so that we could have enough working space for an entire class to utilize this area at one time.
