I often call my students to "come to the carpet". . . and then I realize that they're really just coming to sit on the cold tile floor. In order to foster a more comfortable and peaceful classroom environment, this carpet will provide each student with their own cozy space.
"Please find a spot on the carpet" is about to become reality!
This carpet will help my students to worry less about their peers, and allow them to focus on learning. In addition, this will help to create a positive classroom community and provide a place for students to work independently, and with their peers, during Centers, when students engage in hands-on learning in small groups.
