A great number of my students are ELL/ESOL who were displaced during the earthquake in Haiti and relocated to South Florida several years ago.
More than half of my students have no access to basic commodities in their households, including school supplies and uniforms.
Almost everyday, I have to try to accommodate a child who came to school out of uniform because they just migrated from an impoverished or devastated island or their parents cannot afford to purchase what is needed for school.
Unfortunately, due to limited funding, I am running out of ways to provide uniforms and am seeking your donations so that I can have thirty-six shorts, uniform overalls, skirts and polo shirts to assist students in need of uniforms.
