My students require differentiated teaching methods in order to engage and reach them when teaching core curriculum as well as sensory tools to help them self-regulate.
In intensive needs, my students learn best when provided hands on ways to learn math, reading, writing, and fine motor as well as opportunities to work on their sensory needs.
The sensory beads, dough and other sensory materials will help them find independent methods to know what they need to regulate themselves when feeling upset. Independence is the goal and I want them to be able to know what they need and how to get it themselves to promote independence. The letter and number learning materials are to help students find more fun and engaging ways to practice fine motor skills as well as learn letters and numbers. The fishing game will bring a fun aspect into it and works on fine motor practice as well.
With these materials, they will be able to do have their sensory needs attended to as well as learn in the way that they do best as well as have more opportunities to learn together in groups! This will help them learn more skills to go into the typical classroom for more time!
