The use of technology is very important in a 21st century classroom. Tablets are one way to keep children engaged in learning. Most of my students have trouble focusing on lessons that use traditional books and worksheets, so tablets would allow them the opportunity to engage in the same content a different way. I would use the tablets during learning stations and as a way to practice skills through games. Headphones are also limited at my school and would be extremely helpful to my younger students who need to have things read to them when online. Right now, only one child can go on the computer at a time because without headphones it is impossible for more students to effectively use the computers.
The use of tablets and headphones in the classroom would be very beneficial to my students who often do not have the opportunity to use technology to learn. This would be a fun and exciting way for them to access the curriculum. They enjoy playing games and sometimes enjoy it so much that they forget they are still learning!
