The traditional classroom set up is not conducive to great focus and learning. Those desk and chair combos aren't great for anyone to sit at for long periods of time.
We know that students learn better when they are comfortable and frequently my students show this by choosing to sit on the floor to work.
I would love to give them the opportunity to have seating options so comfort does not get in the way of learning. The flexible seating will allow my students to choose the best place/location for them to work whether we are using technology, working individually or practicing our speaking in groups.
A selection of bean bags, comfy dorm style and bungee chairs will give students that flexibility in seating options. I have also chosen fun and vibrant colours in order to make the classroom even more of an inviting place to be, learn and create. I have chosen kneeling pads for those students who prefer the floor whether seating or lying down to give them some extra comfort. Another important purchase is the clipboards as this prevents students from being tied to desks if written work is necessary.
