Fitness is a brand new class at WSMS designed to educate students on all aspects of personal and physical fitness. I am an advocate of physical fitness and well-being and believe it is essential to promoting healthy lifestyles. Although students have reaped the benefits of this new class, the lack of necessary equipment to strengthen individual components of fitness is hindering maximum potential.
Students are currently very excited about this new course offered and would love to experience more workouts and exercises catered to muscular strength and endurance.
We are limited to mostly body weight/very light resistance when exercising. Even though these are beneficial movements at this age, fitness is a subject that requires frequent variation to meet the needs of each individual. The requested Dumbbell set will provide us with several new exercises to include in our workouts designed to strengthen different muscle groups.
We use every piece of equipment we have to find new ways to exercise. One of our main goals is to introduce students to multiple types of fitness so that it may spark an interest that may open the door to being active outside of school.
