Are you always comfortable at work sitting in a desk with a regular chair? Sometimes when I am hard at work, I am not the most comfortable sitting at my desk. This new furniture will provide my students with a different option besides a hard chair. Many students also have attention problems, being able to move and change seating can eliminate the behavior issues that may arise. They can pull the chairs together as they are working together in small groups.
The ability to choose is a powerful thing, and making the right choices becomes an even more difficult task in an environment where few opportunities to choose are presented. By having the wobble stools and cushions, pilates mats, and butterfly chairs in my classroom, my students will have more seating choices and become better decision makers. They will learn more about their seating preferences, learning styles, and ability to make decisions. This will ultimately help prepare them for a future riddled with various choices and challenges.
