I have so many students this year who struggle to focus or sit still long enough to attend the daily lesson. I believe that having more flexible seating in my classroom will make a huge difference. I envision using the standing desk and exercise ball chairs not just for special needs students, but any child who is not sitting in the usual manner.
Just as I vary my teaching methods to reach a myriad of students, if I vary my seating options, I am hoping to reach yet more of my "wiggly wonders." This is just the beginning of a larger project, where I hope to have an entire room of seating choices.
