Imagine being in a 21st century classroom without 21st century resources. My students in my 8th Grade US History Class are eager to learn, but our resources are limited.
Even just having access to five Chromebooks in our classroom would increase engagement and our understanding of how history plays a role in our every day lives.
I really like to incorporate hands-on projects into my curriculum, and my students love it! But... without access to technology, it is very hard for students to take the projects into their own hands without me having to provide them every resource on a piece of paper. Most of the time, students are limited to using their smart phone (if they have one) to even look up a simple definition to add to their projects.
If our classroom had Chromebooks, we would be able to look at different perspectives about a certain event or topic, do extended research on historical figures and issues, and make history a more enjoyable experience!
