People come from all walks of life, just as readers come with a range of reading experiences! All students must have the opportunity to improve reading skills! The reading resources like comprehension kits, paired passages and informational text folder games, will ensure that students are able to provide evidence within text, to improve comprehension all while playing fun interactive games. For students who are English Language Learners, these games will provide much needed phonemic awareness and phonics instruction in a a format that is interactive. Students that have a certain level of competency in reading comprehension will be encouraged to step it up to the next level of reading proficiency by engaging in the reading and comprehending of paired text passages, both fiction and non-fiction. The reading informational text folder game library will help students understand non-fiction text features and structures, and how to apply those features to further ones' knowledge about non-fiction text while correlating the information to fiction texts. If asked, each child wants to experience success at school, at home, and in society! I want to give them the necessary tools to accomplish their academic skills both at home, and in my classroom!
