I am a primary grade teacher at a rural elementary school in Northern Maine. Due to rising costs and unsightly budget cutbacks, our school was forced to make some unavoidable cuts. My students come primarily from low-income households; therefore resources are often either very limited or insufficient. A strong diversity among the students in my classroom and the way in which they interact and learn has become more evident to me. One of the goals that I set for myself early on in the school year was to adopt innovative strategies that would better enable me to reach out to all learners on a much more personal level, allowing all student a chance to succeed!
